  • Gareth Thomas

    Gareth Thomas

    Gareth co-founded Capella in 2012 with Nia Evans. Previously he was a Board Director and head of digital at Brands2Life. He also worked at a number of other agencies and as a media relations officer for the Government. Since 1998, he's led campaigns for a wide range of b2b and consumer brands, including Google, Sony, Match.com and VMware. He’s also helped turn many start-ups into category leaders. Gareth is a proven leader of both UK-only briefs and international networks. He's a PRCA Council member and is passionate about insight, integrated campaigning and business-driven measurement. Outside of work, his passions include rugby, seafood, travel and spending quality time with his wonderful wife and their three children.

  • Nia Evans

    Nia Evans

    Nia co-founded Capella in 2012 and is a consumer specialist with some 12 years’ experience. Previously communications manager for viagogo, the online ticket exchange, Nia is fluent in devising cut through campaigns across UK and Europe and managing multi-stakeholder projects. Prior to that, she worked at Porter Novelli, Ogilvy and Threepipe running brand-centric campaigns for Vodafone, HP, Betfair and Gala Coral. Nia’s thirst for new inspiration alongside her campaign-led approach has resulted in a reputation for delivering strategic, impactful and integrated campaigns for clients. Outside work, Nia is an avid Welsh rugby supporter, a regular gig goer and fair-weather cyclist.

    Donna Airey

    Donna is a B2B2C technology communications specialist with both agency and in-house experience. Her attention to detail and ability to visualise outputs provides clients with well-planned, well-executed and successful programmes that deliver. Strategies draw on PR, AR, social media and content marketing tactics to create high impact campaigns for global organisations, startups, and everything in between. Donna is skilled at crafting engaging content that incorporates the complexities of deep tech whilst being accessible to a wider audience. In her free time, Donna likes getting out and about with friends and family, usually combined with a visit to a pub!

  • Richard Bond

    Richard Bond

    As head of digital, Richard leads Capella’s team of digital experts, providing client services such as e-commerce, programmatic display, email, digital analytics, social media SEO, PPC and web production.An Oxford graduate, Richard previously worked with Blackrock, Lebara Mobile and holiday lettings firm Sykes Cottages, helping to set and execute digital strategy for over seven years. Following these roles, Richard founded his own e-commerce business, New Cakes, which he grew purely using digital marketing and successfully exited in 2016.

  • Charley Boughen

    Charley Boughen

    Charley is an experienced Senior Account Executive with a strong grasp of the media landscape. Working across a range of clients from baby brands KIDLY and Joie, to fintech disrupter ClearScore, she leads media relations with fighting spirit and isn’t one to give up on getting results. She graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2015 with a degree in Psychology. When not working Charley can be found exploring in the Peak District, brunching with friends, or planning her next European city break. She has also recently taken up climbing and can be found exploring London’s various venues of a weekend.

    Laura West-Wilson

    In her time at Capella Laura has convinced a team of reluctant journalists to run a mile against the City’s fastest execs at the Square Mile Relay, launched a video championing the value of advertising for Teads and rallied 17,000 consumers to sign a petition for free credit scores for uSwitch. She even spent one Sunday morning cheering on 150 inflatable sumos racing around Battersea Park. Laura is an Oxford University graduate with a degree in French and German. She still loves to read everything from classic literature to the daily papers – preferably in a cosy pub. Laura also leads the Capella team on its ever wilder monthly social events.

    Alice Bravery

    Since joining in 2013, Alice has established herself as a media relations specialist capable of securing big hits no matter what the subject matter. Working with brands such as Zapp, Upwork and uSwitch, Alice has added valuable consumer insight, turning news stories into consumer campaigns. Alice graduated from Birmingham University in 2012 with a degree in English Literature and History. When not working Alice spends most of her time hitting the slopes, attending festivals and bottomless brunching. She is also an avid reader when time permits and plays for her local netball team.

    Tom Broughton

    Tom has worked across a wide range of technology and consumer briefs. Never one to shy away from a spreadsheet, Tom has a passion for data storytelling. Tom has recently worked to champion diversity in sport at the British Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards and has (quite literally) put credit scores on the map for ClearScore. On a Friday, Tom can normally be found in the BA terminal of Heathrow airport, preparing to jet set off to another glamorous European destination.

  • Josh Backler

    Josh Backler

    Josh is an Account Executive at Capella. Since joining in February as a PRCA apprentice, he has worked on a variety of B2C and B2B accounts, from supporting charity work to exploring the world of finance. In particular, Josh loves to write but also has an eye for crunching through data to drag out the hardest-hitting news hooks possible.
    Outside of the office, you can catch him playing football, or failing that, exploring the best bars London has to offer.

  • Seb Holland

    Seb Holland

    Seb joined the Capella team as an Account Executive after working across a variety of sectors including finance, telecoms and technology. Seb now works across a broad range of clients, from AdTech giants, Teads, to personal finance gurus, ClearScore and MunnyPot. Out of the office, you can find Seb on the football field or elsewhere watching some kind of sport. Holiday’s for Seb tend to include a sunny beach, but he also loves the challenge of mountaineering, having recently completed the three peaks challenge. Now he is preparing for his next test…conquering Everest!

    Ena Cosic

    Ena is an Account Executive at Capella and leads the media relations charge on accounts such as uSwitch and TVTY. Previously, she gained experience in social media and digital communication as a Junior Creative Strategist and uses those skills to manage social media and digital briefs for baby gear brands Nuna and Joie. Originally from Croatia, Ena grew up in Germany and moved to London in May 2015. She now resides in East London where she’s still discovering all the joys that Hackney has to offer. Ena also enjoys going to boxing and Martial Art classes preparing for her first fight.

  • Derrick Otchere

    Derrick Otchere

    After working for social integration charity The Challenge, Derrick joined an Account Executive where he leads media relations on accounts such as Viant, AVADO and sports charity StreetGames. A key highlight of his time at Capella so far includes managing the media at the launch of StreetGames’ Fit & Fed initiative which was visited by Prince Harry. Derrick is a steet/afro beats dancer and enjoys singing soul and RnB.

    Peter Crouch

    For 25 years since qualifying as a chartered accountant with a City firm, Peter has worked across a range of businesses. He has held senior positions at the level of Managing Director or Finance Director in a number of these, ranging from manufacturing businesses to a company operating in financial services on a global basis. Peter is passionate about working with talented people in vibrant, young businesses and using his many years experience to facilitate the aspirations of driven individuals towards a seamless growth path. In his spare time Peter enjoys golf, five-a-side football and racket sports and is often found in different parts of the world playing bridge where he represents England internationally.

    Rosie Taylor

    In her role as Finance Controller, Rosie ensures we’re running a tight ship at Capella. Rosie qualified as a chartered accountant in Australia before moving to the UK. She has worked for several large companies across a breadth of industries, including Diageo, the global drinks company and Hit Entertainment, a FTSE 250 Media company.

    Ellie supports the team across a variety of clients. She’s an expert in data research and analysis and also makes sure our office always runs beautifully smoothly.
