This week, our client TVTY hosted a media morning to introduce its latest whitepaper exploring adoption of moment marketing in the UK. The report shows that moment marketing is set for explosive growth in 2016, with over two thirds (67%) of brands planning to spend more on digital campaigns triggered by offline events.
Put simply, moment marketing instantly connects online advertising to what’s going on in the offline world. It’s about connecting with people at the key moments when they reach for their smartphone or laptop to check the web or interact on social media.
As Pierre Maréchal, TVTY’s EMEA CEO, says in his introduction to the paper,
“If somebody offered to sell you an umbrella the second it started raining, I’d guess you’d be more likely to buy it than if it was dry. As a rugby fan, you would probably be more receptive to a brand if it tweeted its congratulations just after your favourite player scored a try, than if it just pushed a generic product message at you. Both of these are simple examples of‘moment marketing’ in action, a strategy which brands are increasingly adopting.”
Makes a lot of sense to us: in world where we’re all bombarded by advertising, the more contextually relevant it can be, the better. You can get a free copy of the whitepaper here.
