Last night, the Capella team were joined by friends, family and clients alike as we raised money for a brilliant cause via our hugely competitive annual charity quiz.
The goal was to raise as much money as possible for the Paul Curtis Fund; a cause close to our hearts that is raising £100,000 to modify the home of former Harlequins rugby player, Paul Curtis, who was left paralysed from the waist down following a mountain bike accident in 2016.
The teams battled it out throughout the night in six hotly contested categories, including: ‘Who said it: Trump or Buddy,’ and the apparently controversial, ‘Waitrose essential item or not’ (sea salt and kelp body wash being deemed ‘everyday’ rather than essential….) The classic general knowledge and music rounds also featured, with our very own Josh Backler making his DJ debut to great acclaim.
The youngest quiz contestant and guest of honour, baby Huey, was enlisted to help with picking the raffle tickets at the end of the night where some great prizes were up for grabs, including a rugby shirt signed by the Harlequins team and a Fortnum and Mason hamper.
Congratulations to the winners from OUTstanding who made an astonishing half time come-back after demonstrating strong knowledge of the film ‘Elf,’ allowing them to clinch the top spot.
All in all, a fantastic night for an equally fantastic cause. Thank you to everyone who made it such a success, we would never have managed it without your support. Special mention must go to Paul’s wife Rhian for traveling all the way from West Wales for the event. And a huge thank you to Blue Tree Kitchen for giving us the venue and pizzas for free, and to Robbie + Georgie Brown (from TranlucenSea) for the brilliant raffle prizes.
