Last week, the Capella team soaked up the amazing atmosphere at London’s Guildhall Yard, the setting for the start of the eighth annual Bloomberg Square Mile Relay.
The event is the the ultimate corporate running race, with teams of 10 runners from the City’s biggest firms each running one mile of a gruelling course that took them through the heart of the City, up stairs and around tight corners. The course was not for the faint hearted!
Olympic relay legend and world record holder Michael Johnson set the runners off and shared his motivational tips with teams and media. The 400m record holder and businessman was in high demand during the evening, interviewed by the likes of the International Business Times, City A.M and the Evening Standard.
We also secured a gallant team of trade journalists to take on the track, who made a brilliant effort running through the course. Coming 95th with a respectable time of 1:18:52, they proved themselves capable of running the city too.
Titleholders SenseCore prevented defending champions Barclays from making it a third year at the top, with JP Morgan coming in third.
We worked hard to secure a huge range of both national, regional and trade coverage with more still to come. Although we didn’t take up the mile-long challenge, look out for team Capella on the start line next year…
The Bloomberg Square Mile takes place next in Singapore on October 2nd, followed by Hong Kong on 6th November. Follow this link to register.
